Across multiple fisheries, the addition of underwater lighting has been shown to dramatically increase catch rates. PotLight Pro works by leveraging either by phototaxis (simple light attraction) or triggering a predatory cascade. For example, krill are strongly drawn to white light which draws in predators like cod that are stimulated by the movement of prey.
Unlike bait, pot lights have a 360-degree attraction radius, remains effective for as long as the battery lasts and doesn’t degrade like traditional bait. This gives pots a longer effective fishing window and allows them to compete with—and in some cases outperform—gillnets, while remaining selective and low-impact.
